Barber of Seville – extra performance added!

by | Nov 7, 2013 | News | 0 comments

The overwhelming response to Rossini’s The Barber of Seville has seen the productions five performances selling out weeks before the first curtain call. Owing to popular demand, Cape Town Opera is announcing an additional performance on Saturday, 23 November 2013 at Artscape commencing at 1pm.  Tickets are priced at R175 throughout.

Presented by the international award-winning Cape Town Opera in collaboration with the UCT Opera School, this hilarious opera buffa is Cape Town Opera’s hair-raising contribution to the month of ‘Movember’ with cast members and conductor Kamal Khan sporting moustaches in support of their “Mo-Bros and Sistas” as they join the Movember Testicular and Prostate Cancer Awareness campaign.

At every performance, including the extra show, 75 lucky couples stand a chance to win an On-stage Passport, affording them the opportunity to meet the cast members and look at the set after the show. Plus, the odd appearance from a celebrity or two will add even more surprise to The Barber of Seville

The Barber of Seville brings Cape Town Opera’s 2013 season to a high-spirited conclusion with this new production by Christine Crouse and Maestro Kamal Khan.

Don’t miss this last chance to enjoy The Barber of Seville’s knockabout humour with music of great virtuosity and brilliance with knockout performances by a multi-talented cast.
