June heralds 2024 Youth Month at Artscape – “a time to celebrate the strides our Born Frees have made since we attained 30 years of democracy”.

2024 YOUTH MONTH EXHIBITION
The 2024 Youth Month Festival aims to celebrate and amplify the diverse voices, expressions, and talents of South African youth, coinciding with Youth Day. This event will be an immersive experience, fostering a sense of unity and understanding among the youth in the Western Cape.
The Youth Month Art Exhibition showcases young talent from across the Western Cape. A range of mediums from photography, to textile art, performance art and paintings will be exhibited. It showcases the rich tapestry of youth experiences with themes of resilience, identity, climate action and community connection.

YOUTH JAZZ SERIES
This event was launched in 2003 as the Youth Jazz Festival. The project has grown extensively over the years to accommodate the enormous interest and exceptional talent of young jazz musicians. As the project continues to evolve it is now known as the Youth Jazz Series.
The project includes Masterclass programmes where the young musicians will learn from those experienced in the industry and then they will take to the stage across two days:
Youth Jazz Soloists showcase their talent after being mentored by Youth Jazz Alumni on Friday 21st June 2024 and the School Jazz Bands will perform on Saturday 22nd June 2024 at Artscape Theatre. BOOK HERE
