Time Out’s Best Cities with Intrepid Travel have just unveiled its 50-strong ranking of the world’s most brilliant hubs for 2026. And Cape Town feature as the BEST in Africa and 6th in the world! PLUS Cape Town was ranked #1 Best Airport in Africa #1 by Skytrax for the11th consecutive year!
Based on 24,000 responses from local urbanites, and insight from more than 100 Time Out city experts, this year’s Best Cities have been ranked based on everything from their culture and nightlife to their affordability and walkability, with Melbourne claiming the number one spot. Cape Town came in at number 6!
Nineteen cities in Europe were included, too, as were 12 different metropolises across Asia, and In Africa, four cities from all corners of the continent claimed a spot in the 2026 ranking,
Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) has officially clinched the title of Africa’s top airport in the 2026 Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airport awards. The Mother City airport also claimed the title of the cleanest airport in Africa. At the same time, its staff were awarded the accolade of Best Airport Staff in Africa, reinforcing the airport’s reputation for service excellence and world-class passenger experience.
