EBONY/CURATED is delighted to announce ‘Ntshalintshali’, a collaborative exhibition at their Bordeaux House Gallery in Franschhoek, with Ardmore, one of South Africa’s most beloved and internationally recognised creative studios. ‘Ntshalintshali opens on 4 July 2026 and runs through to 2nd August 2026.
‘Ntshalintshali’ celebrates the enduring legacy of Bonnie Ntshalintshali, one of Ardmore’s most influential artists. The exhibition brings together a collection of significant large-scale works by Bonnie’s son, Senzo Ntshalintshali, and her nephews, Somandla Ntshalintshali and Slu Mlambo, who continue to contribute to Ardmore’s evolving artistic story.
This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience some of Ardmore’s most important recent works outside of the studio’s workshops and museum collections. Founded in 1985 by Fee Halsted, Ardmore has played an important role in South African contemporary ceramics, nurturing artists from diverse backgrounds and providing a platform for internationally celebrated creative voices. Together, Halsted and Bonnie Ntshalintshali received the Standard Bank Young Artist Award in 1990, establishing their influence within the South Africanart landscape.
Ardmore’s distinctive approach combines African storytelling, folklore, cultural traditions and contemporary experiences. While each artist brings their own
unique perspective, the works reflect a deep connection to heritage, identity and place.
Through ‘Ntshalintshali’ EBONY/CURATED celebrates the continued evolution of Ardmore and the artists who have shaped its legacy, honouring tradition whileembracing innovation and contemporary expression.
