BLONDE POISON is a play set against the backdrop of the Holocaust, asking the central question, “What would I have done in her place?”
The play challenges us to confront our humanity and the choices we make when faced with threats. The multi-award-winning actress, FIONA RAMSAY, portrays Stella Goldschlag, who lives illegally in war-torn Berlin and becomes involved in a murky world of treachery. Despite the dark subject matter, the character’s honesty, observations of her situation, and resilience make this a memorable and must-see production.
The play is inspired by the true-life drama of Stella Goldschlag – ” a morality tale of beauty, treachery and the high price of survival in a world beset by mistrust, espionage and duplicity”.
A brilliant and convincing performance that is sensitively directed to reflect the emotional conflict and trauma that Stella tries to deal with in her life. The seeming simplicity and restraint in the direction and setting adds immeasurably to the performance.
Blonde Poison is written by GAIL LOUW, directed by FRED ABRAHAMSE and designed by MARCEL MEYER.
A memorable and evocative night at the theatre!
