Join Long March to Freedom as Iron Man participant Franz Müllner attempts a unique World Record challenge on 16 April 2025 at 09:30.
City Sightseeing Cape Town is thrilled to announce the hosting of distinguished athlete and Iron Man participant, Franz Müllner, at the Long March to Freedom.
- On this occasion, Müllner will attempt a spectacular feat by pulling one of City Sightseeing Cape Town’s iconic red buses, which has a gross vehicle mass of 16 700kg, marking Africa as the sixth continent in his ambitious challenge to set 7 World Records across 7 continents.
Franz Müllner’s journey
Müllner’s journey began in South America in Peru, where he laid the groundwork for his extraordinary challenges. He then travelled to Holland in Europe, followed by North America, and then reached Australia as his fourth destination. His fifth continent was Asia, represented by Turkey. The World Records included the highest tracking weight when moving a ship and pulling of the heaviest truck with a helicopter landing on it. This global trek underscores Müllner’s commitment to pushing boundaries and achieving remarkable feats across diverse environments.
Franz Müllner, a former Jagdkommando Soldier with the Austrian Special Operation Forces, attributes his remarkable achievements to the discipline and mental resilience cultivated during his military service. His rigorous training and experience have propelled him to the forefront of extreme sports, resulting in an impressive tally of over 56 world records.
The challenge
Müllner’s current challenge, the “7 World Records, 7 Continents Tour,” is a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence. With a combination of physical prowess and innovative thinking, he has embarked on unique and daring projects that push the limits of human capability.
Together with City Sightseeing Cape Town, we are proud to be part of this extraordinary event, which not only showcases Müllner’s incredible strength and determination but also highlights the beauty and spirit of Cape Town. City Sightseeing Cape Town supports Franz Müllner as he takes on this incredible challenge and celebrates the spirit of adventure that transcends borders.
