Owner of Art Haus Sea Point Gallery, Greg Lipton, explains that the gallery is an art experience, being a workshop for Origami artist JooJ as well as a gallery space focusing on multi-media artists.

The gallery came about through the vision of his partner JooJ, and they have now been in business for four and a half years. They are pleased to be growing through selling beautiful artworks to locals as well as internationals.
JooJ – Origami Artist
Modestly, Greg does not mention that JooJ is the Guiness World Record Origami Artist!. He is well known for his work with Origami butterflies. And this multi media approach has influenced the artists who show at their gallery. They are not a typical gallery, but more of an art experience. And they enjoy seeing the response of visitors and engaging with them about the work and what they are looking for in particular. There’s an interaction as they show people how to create origami objects. It’s a relaxed experience – it’s not an intimidating gallery space.
In fact they are a relaxed space for both viewers and young artists. Through a collaboration with Youngblood Gallery, they welcome in young, dynamic artists, whose work have found homes locally and abroad. Medium is their strong suit. Examples include an engineer who is graffiti artist producing works that light up, and an artist working in resin. The focus is on the unusual, the different and the beautiful.
The gallery is now showcasing JooJ’s latest work – his Listen Collection. This is a collection that talks to you and resonates with you. And you can always drop in to learn how to make an Origami butterfly!
