Heritage Month Celebrations kick off early at Rupert Museum – on Museum Saturday – 26 August 2023 to be exact
September is the month for celebrating who we are as South Africans, starting the hype and build-up a pop-up outdoor exhibition will feature the work by local schools. Fifty learners between Grade 8 and 12 from Lückhoff, Stellenzicht, Kylemore, Apex and Eerste River have contributed to the successful execution of mural panels making up this exhibition. These learners were taught and guided by well-known Cape Town street and multi-disciplinary artist Ras Silas Motse, whose works adorn public and open spaces from Cape Town through to Worcester.
The key difference between what Graffiti and Street Art resembles and questions on how one can make a career out of art was shared with these youngsters. We look forward to sharing this Heritage celebration with you. Be the first to see the panels showcasing the true South African elements that make our country unique.
