Creative Director of AAFRICAA, Cathy O’Clery, will be the guest at artSoko Gallery at Clementina Ceramics, in their new series of talks. Titled ‘Inspiration from Morocco’ it takes place on Saturday 10 October from 11:00 to 12:30.
As Creative Director of AAFRICAA, Cathy O’Clery has spent more than two decades working with designers, makers and creative entrepreneurs across Africa. On a recent journey through Marrakech and Tangier, she found herself looking at Morocco not just as a traveller, but through the lens of a creative director – noticing colour, texture, architecture, craftsmanship, retail, food, fashion and the small details that make a place feel distinctive.
In this talk, Cathy shares the ideas, visual inspiration and unexpected discoveries she brought home from Morocco, and reflects on what they made her think about creativity, curation and the way we tell African stories. A personal take on how travel can shift your perspective, spark new ideas and influence what you create when you get home.
