A Walkabout with Madoda Fani on the making of his current solo exhibition titled Let Us Now Praise Famous Men, takes place on Saturday 13 July at 11:00.
Ceramic artist Madoda Fani will talk about the making and symbolism of his current solo exhibition at Southern Guild in Cape Town.
Featuring 10 intricately incised earthenware forms, this new body of work pays tender tribute to the men who have shaped Fani’s life and practice, challenging hetero-normative narratives of Black masculinity in South Africa.
Madoda Fani’s exhibition is one of three concurrently running solo exhibitions at Southern Guild Cape Town. The solo exhibitions feature artists Adam Birch, King Houndekpinkou as well as Madoda. As we noted – three excellent reasons to visit Southern Guild Cape Town.
