Norval Foundation invites the public, through their Give the Gift of Art campaign to donate towards their education mission; bringing African art education to children from under-resourced communities.
- In the spirit of Mandela Day, Norval Foundation is inviting you to help open the doors of African art and creativity to children who might otherwise never have the opportunity to experience it.

Through the Give the Gift of Art campaign, the Foundation aims to raise at least R67,000 in support of its Learning Centre Education Programme, which has welcomed more than 30,000 learners from under resourced schools and communities since its inception in 2021.
The Norval Foundation Learning Centre is a vibrant, purpose-built creative space where young people are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas and discover their own creative voice. Nearly every weekday during the school term, the Learning Centre comes alive with the energy and excitement of visiting school groups. Guided by two dedicated Learning Centre facilitators, learners engage in meaningful conversations about African art before translating their own ideas into hands-on creative projects inspired by the exhibitions they have explored.
For many of these children, stepping into Norval Foundation Art Museum is about far more than a museum visit. It is their first encounter with African art, their first opportunity to see themselves reflected in a cultural institution, and their first experience of a space that encourages creativity, curiosity and selfexpression. TThese moments of discovery often spark confidence, imagination and a lasting sense of possibility.
Every visit is carefully designed to remove the barriers that prevent many young people from accessing arts education. Learners are transported to and from the Foundation, enjoy a guided tour of the museum and Sculpture Garden, participate in an engaging hands-on art workshop led by the Learning Centre facilitators, and receive a nutritious snack before returning to school inspired by everything they have experienced.
These life-changing visits are only possible through ongoing fundraising and the generosity of donors, partners and supporters who believe that access to arts education should never depend on circumstance. Inspired by the spirit of Mandela Day, the campaign encourages individuals and organisations to contribute at any level:
• R67 helps bring a learner one step closer to an inspiring museum experience.
• R670 supports creative learning opportunities for visiting school groups.
• R6,700 makes a meaningful investment in expanding access to arts education for even more learners.
Every contribution helps remove barriers to creativity, ensuring that more children can experience the joy of discovering art, expressing themselves and realising that museums are places where they belong.

Donations can be made in support of the Norval Foundation Learning Centre via EFT. Donations to the
Norval Foundation Educational Trust qualify for a Section 18A tax certificate.
