Inspiring Young Artists and Fostering Creative Expression
The Norval Foundation and its Learning Centre are proud to announce the launch of the Norval Student Art Prize (NSAP) in collaboration with Peter Clarke Art Centre and ARTSAUCE; an exciting initiative aimed at inspiring young artists and fostering creative expression among learners aged 7 to 18 years old.
“This prize marks an exciting step for Norval Foundation in nurturing young talent and reinforcing our commitment to arts education. We are proud to provide a platform where students can engage with South Africa’s history through creative expression.” says Caroline Greyling, Norval Foundation Museum Director.
  • The competition provides a platform for students to share their artistic interpretations of the current group show exhibition: We, the People: 30 Years of Democracy in South Africa and reflect on the theme TO BELONG.
Closing date for submissions is on 12 May 2025, thereafter all submissions will be reviewed and scored by a panel of judges’ using a point system. The highest scoring art works in each age category – Foundation, Intermediate, Senior, and FET – will be unveiled and announced at the NSAP exhibition opening on 16 June 2025. The exhibition at Norval Foundation will be a space frequently used for educational tours, facilitated by the Learning Centre.
