45 Artists from South Africa Showing Works Inspired by Table Mountain

Art on the Mountain, an exhibition which premiered at the Suidoosterfees at Artscape Theatre Centre, moves into a gallery space at 33BREE, in collaboration with The Artists Gallery.

What began as a seven-week creative journey on the summit of Table Mountain has evolved into a remarkable collection of artworks.

In collaboration with the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, Cape Town based artist Hermien van der Merwe transformed one of South Africa’s most iconic natural landmarks into her working studio. During October and November 2025, she invited fellow artists to join her on the mountain, creating work shaped by Cape Town, the vast landscape below, and the unique beauty of its fynbos.

33BREE, in collaboration with The Artists Gallery, presents this remarkable body of work, created by 45 participating artists. Art on the Mountain is more than an exhibition; it is a celebration of shared experience, creative dialogue, and the deep connection between artists, place, and audience.

“We warmly invite you to join us as this unique project continues its journey, literally from the summit to the presenting gallery.” Jaret Loggenberg, Managing Director.
