• Pan African Market

The gateway to Africa, this extraordinary selection of stalls managed by the dynamic and stylish Vuyo Koyana, is like a sample selection from the souks and markets of the whole continent. Go to browse, to buy, to marvel, to have your hair braided, or to attend an Ethiopian coffee ceremony – or just stand on the broekie lace balcony and watch life on Long Street go by.

  • Work in Progress

Witness a busy group of artists practicing their various arts and crafts in this communal studio and gallery. Manager Olivia Bouwer coordinates the artists, who are predominately women.

  • Monkeybiz

Founded in the early 90’s by ceramicist Barbara Jackson, this creative beadwork project produces the most original artefacts – from bags and badges to exotic creatures that are to be found in galleries, museums and personal collections all over the world. Biz works with over 450 women beaders from the surrounding townships most of whom operate from home.
