Popular Mayor’s Craft Market returns on 3 & 4 April at the Cape Town Civic Centre and promises a variety of products and services.
Locally handmade and pre-packaged goods will be for sale on the concourse level of the Cape Town Civic Centre.
‘I am quite pleased to welcome back crafters to this second 2025 market. In February, City staff came out in large numbers to connect and support these artisans. It is quite convenient to have a variety of products and offerings available all in one place.
This market is a powerful platform for promoting social cohesion and generating income to support families and build small businesses. The support over the years has been greatly appreciated and we look forward to visiting each stand,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Alderman Theresa Uys.
The Mayor’s Craft Market is part of the Mayor’s Skills Development and Poverty Alleviation Programme and it offers registered vendors a free opportunity to sell their goods to City staff, as well as members of the public visiting the Civic Centre. The market’s impact on local livelihoods, since its first run in September 2010, has been profound.
Services and products sold at the market vary from savouries, jewellery, knitwear, chocolates, nuts, skin care, bedding, duvets, succulent pot plants, leather goods and shoes to name a few. More than 40 crafters exhibit on the market days.
