“This year’s Suidoosterfees like every previous year’s rich offer of entertainment in all genres, but this time it will be extra special,” observes Prof Jakes Gerwel, Chairman of the Board.

There are, among others, a first African Fugard piece, a scene processing of a Brink novel, Adam Small Orange Earth, Steve’s four letters for Jan Ellis, a David Kramer concert, a celebration of the iconic Eoan Group, a unique teen drama, a rare exhibition Breyten Breytenbach’s paintings, and a nice festive concert which tens of the Suidoosterfees’s stalwarts act together to celebrate the ten years.

And that’s just a taste of what is there to enjoy. Come celebrate together.

“It’s now 10 years that we below Table Mountain in the heart of African feast.” Prof Jakes Gerwel

The festival has spread to three venues – Artscape, The Fugard and the City Hall.
