The Variety Gala 2026 is an integral part of the CPO’s makeup, offering performance opportunities to so many local artists. This year’s concert will be no different – Brandon Phillips will bring his special brand of charisma to the podium.
Directed by Aviva Pelham, with Musical Direction by Stefan Lombard and the host for the evening is radio presenter Africa Melane.

You can hear opera (Cape Town Opera), see dance (Cape Town City Ballet, Jazzart Dance Theatre,) acts by the Zip Zap Circus and Oleksii and Michele, and Tollie Parton. Singers and choirs include Tygerberg Children’s Choir, Anna Davel, Amara Voices, Moegammat Zayd Damon and Jimmy Nevis.
Appearing for the first time in the Variety Gala, is the Tygerberg Children’s Choir, recently returned from another successful tour in Europe.
