Visual art: William Kentridge
by Philip | Dec 19, 2012 | News |
In the first of William Kentridge’s six Norton lectures delivered at Harvard University earlier this year, the acclaimed artist reportedly emphasised that artistic experience is richer when it is suggestive rather than dictatorial and when the image and the word are readily “awaiting deformation”. This insistence on reconfiguration, reworking and reinterpretation infuses his latest exhibition titled No, It Is. It brings together recent flipbook films, silkscreened one-liners, enigmatic drawings and kinetic sculptures.
