WOMAN’S DAY PROGRAMME Saturday 9 August at Artscape a feature of Women’s Humanity Festival throughout August – Women’s Month.
• 9.30am to 12pm join CEO of Artscape Marlene le Roux and overall icon of the Festival, Judge Albie Sachs, one of the Six Icons for Peace. Judge Albie Sachs – South African lawyer, activist, writer, and former judge appointed to SA’s first Constitutional Court by Nelson Mandela.
Wire Woman
- The programme includes choir performances, marimba music with Thandi Swartbooi and Women Unite,
- Interfaith blessings by the youth of the Cape Town Interfaith Initiative,
- Handing over of STEP-UP FOR PEACE scroll in front of WIRE WOMAN to the Premier of the Western Cape Alan Winde.
- The foyers will host interactive stalls, Cancer Alliance health screenings and more
- An exhibition featuring the work of the Rural Women and Youth Movement plus
- A documentary screening at 1pm highlights this project.
Throughout Women’s Month, Artscape Theatre, in association with Women’s Zone has an exciting programme of special events and productions promoting the Women’s Humanity Festival.
