The third edition of the Cape Town Art Fair runs alongside the Design Indaba, Guild Design Fair and South African National Gallery programme. Guests can look forward to African performance artists curated by guest curator art historian, critic and author RoseLee Goldberg, installations at the Chavonnes Battery Museum in partnership with the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Scheryn Pavilion) and at the V&A Waterfront, curated by Vulindlela Nyoni, a lecturer in fine art at Stellenbosch University, and talks curated by Matthew Blackman, the director of the Association for Visual Arts and editor of ArtThrob.

The second Littlegig concert features the indie-electro one-man band Yoav and the jazz, soul and hip-hop vocalist Zaki Ibrahim. There will be a cameo appearance by South African Music award-winner Inge Beckmann of Lark. The annual Design Indaba FilmFest is a 10-day event, chock-a-block with South African premieres and special screenings. The curated selection of feature films includes Tim Burton’s Big Eyes and documentaries on creativity and design such as The Newsroom – Off the Record, Regarding Susan Sontag and Dior and I. The winner of the 2014 Elle Decoration British Design Award for Best British Pattern, Jessica Zoob, presents Passion and the Still Life, a celebratory collection of works inspired by her life experiences and informed by her joy of painting. Produced on a lavish scale – some pieces are up to two metres high – the decorative collection includes work from Imiso Ceramics, Atang Tshikare, Dokter and Misses and Bronze Age Foundry.
