The seventh annual DSTV Mitchells Plain Festival is once again set to draw huge crowds and Cape Town is proud to be part of this unifying event.
The festival, which takes place from 27 to 29 November, will be held at the Westridge Gardens in Mitchells Plain.Â
The annual festival is a firm favourite on the City’s events calendar and is billed as the biggest event of its kind on the Cape Flats, attracting more than 35 000 people.
It provides a platform for approximately 145 small, medium and micro-sized enterprises who participate and benefit from the event, while 50 local artists, DJs, musicians and entertainers perform and entertain the crowds.
‘Mitchells Plain has become a vibrant and exciting place to live, work and play. This festival serves as a celebration of the culture and community for the people of Mitchells Plain,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Tourism, Events and Economic Development, Councillor Garreth Bloor.
This year the festival promises a stellar line-up of local artists and entertainment to suit the entire family as well as prize giveaways, jumping castles, water slides, live music shows, and a range of exhibitors.
The Mitchells Plain Festival coincides with the roll-out of the additional MyCiTi route to Kapteinsklip on Saturday 28 November 2015.
