They’ve done it again – Hotel Verde, Africa’s greenest hotel, was voted in the top one percent of hotels in the world, in the Bargain-category, by travellers from around the globe, submitting reviews to TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Awards.

This four-star city hotel has set the benchmark in sustainable practices and offers the guest a truly exclusive experience. Not only are guests staying in an environmentally friendly hotel but you also stay carbon free – a first for Africa. Some of the distinctive offerings at Hotel Verde include green conferencing, weekly earth hour, power-generating gym equipment, eco-outings, and rewards for sustainable practices during your stay.

“Our aim has been to expand on guest experience by directly rewarding our guest with “Verdino’s” our in house currency, for making consciously correct choices during their stay. “ We have involved and supported our local community by procuring local products, increasing job creation and employment of local youth,” says Samantha Annandale, General Manager, at Hotel Verde.

For the 13th year, TripAdvisor has highlighted the world’s top properties based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year.

Winners were identified in the categories of Top Hotels, Bargain, B&Bs and Inns, Family, Luxury, Romance, Service and Small Hotels. The hallmarks of Travellers’ Choice winners are remarkable service, quality and value.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our guests that have taken the time to submit a review to TripAdvisor and deciding to make the responsible choice, to stay at Africa’s greenest hotel” concluded Samantha.

The four-star property offers 145 rooms, conference facilities, restaurant, bar, indoor gym, outdoor jogging trail and gym equipment, with an eco-pool and 24-hour deli. Hotel Verde not only offers every luxury but also the added element of extensive green features.
