Our featured artist with work up in the online gallery this month is Batsirai Jorofani, 31. It’s his artwork, Red Roofs, that you see here. [Vendor number: #1881Pitch: Sun Valley] Batsirai Jorofani joined The Big Issue two years ago. He is originally from Zimbabwe and moved to Cape Town in search of a job. He enjoys The Big Issue art and writing programme and would like to one day become a professional artist.
“My skills are self-taught. I enjoy painting and expressing myself in different ways,” says Batsirai. He currently stays in Masiphumelele and sells the magazine in Fish Hoek.
