Art: Talking about Cape Town

The Cape Gallery has put together a selection of work by a group of artists who capture the faces, laughter and energy that make up Cape Town’s labyrinth of life.

Cape Town’s culture is unmistakable. From the sun setting as Table Mountain is covered by its white sheath to the drone of busses, taxis and trains around the city centre; the local hairdressers, businesses and corner shops; Friday night fish and chips; smileys; the music and neighbourly conversations over fences and washing lines.

Participating artists include: Tyrone Appollis, Kenneth Baker, Patrick Cordingley, Christopher Mafafo, Charles Maleka, Billy Mandindi, Philip Mbusi, Vuyisani Mgijima, Solomon Siko, Gerald Tabata, Meshack Tembani, Tyrrel Thaysen and Mandla Vanyaza
