Lynedoch Eco Village is the first ecologically designed socially mixed intentional community in South Africa. It is a socially and economically viable centred around a learning precinct located outside the South African university town of Stellenbosch. It showcases practical and working examples of an ecologically designed urban system that uses local replicable technologies. Also home to the Sustainability Institute, an international living and learning centre, provides a space for people to explore an approach to creating a more equitable society that lives in a way that sustains rather than destroys the eco-system within which all society is embedded.
