“We’re not into the perfectly made or the mass produced – it’s about high end true craft, slightly imperfect, timeless and originally designed… that special something that is only found at the show.”
KAMERS & CCDI Trading at the Castle is officially recognised as part of the World Design Capital Cape Town 2014 programme.
How KAMERS Came To Be
It all started in 2003, when close friends vacated their home and our new business moved in. We started realizing our dream to provide a platform where creative people come together for inspiration, encouragement and support.
Our first Kamers showcased just 40 suppliers and we had 800 excited visitors. Over the past few years, KAMERS has grown from strength to strength as people have joined our dream, imparted invaluable wisdom and left indelible footprints. In 2013 our three events had 41 600 visitors in total and they are still just as excited about the KAMERS experience.
Philosophy – Share, Support, Believe
“The journey with KAMERS as a business has been one of sharing and supporting. We treasure the sisterhood in our team and work hard to offer support on various levels to all our suppliers. We aim to break new ground by innovatively sourcing creative talent and fresh product ideas that are exclusive, creative and retail focused, while offering a nurturing environment and safe space for small businesses to grow.
KAMERS is all about bringing creative people together by sharing and collaborating on ideas, supporting each other through honesty, tolerance and understanding, and believing in all of our ability and creative talent.”
