The Big Issue selects this month’s MUST-SEE World Design Capital events and exhibitions, and mapmyway will hihlight of some of these offerings.

THE MOTION PROJECT

Dance has always been a part of our culture, but The Motion Project is bringing it to audiences in two new ways this July.

The first is a photographic exhibition featuring prominent South African dancers – including Dance for All’s Philip Boyd and Cape Town City Ballet’s Laura Bosenberg – in front of well-known architectural spaces, from the Cape Town Civic Centre to the Castle of Good Hope and Green Point Stadium.

The second is Blueprint, a dance performance with a difference at the iconic City Hall. There, six dancers will perform in four separate rooms alongside architectural art installations, creating a spectacle that’s more of a dance exhibition than a traditional on-stage production.

WHEN: July 3 to Aug 3 (exhibition); July 28 to Aug 2 (Blueprint)
WHERE: Youngblood Gallery, Beautifull Life Building, Bree St (exhibition); City Hall (Blueprint performances)
