The Big Issue selects this month’s MUST-SEE World Design Capital events and exhibitions, and mapmyway will highlight of some of these offerings.

THE CAPE TOWN WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL

The Cape Town World Music Festival will take place during the Mandela Day weekend, offering a special opportunity for local and international musicians to perform on the same stage.

It’s the first festival to bring together all music genres, including reggae, house, electronica, afrobeat, rock, Balkan, traditional African, roots, bluegrass, country, jazz, hip hop and many more. Last year’s event included performances by artists from five continents, and was headlined by popular Zimbabwean musician Oliver Mtukudzi.

This year’s event promises to be just as exciting, and will use light as a medium for designers to create installations that link music with design. Visit website for more info
