The CCDI and The Bank have teamed up to transform their previous headquarters at 75 Harrington Street into a vibrant new collaborative creative hub.
Between 20 and 30 creative businesses will be accommodated at 75 Harrington Street, over three floors, and the basement will function as an exhibition, event or workshop space, opening up onto the street.
A variety of tailored workspaces are now available to rent – ranging from prime office ‘suites’ of 80 sqm and lock-up-and-go offices of around 10 sqm, to flexible hot desks. Rental at 75 Harrington Street includes services like central reception and switchboard; WiFi, print and photocopying; access to meeting rooms and a boardroom; and a communal kitchen on each floor.
The ideal tenant mix will include individual designers and makers across the full spectrum of design disciplines – graphic design, web design, social media, surface design; fashion design; industrial design, and more – and relevant creative business support services.
Already in the building are Heath Nash and the Makers Library; Laurence Brick and Cathy O’Clery, the creative team of 100% Design and co-founders of Business of Design; and Steven Harris and the team from Furnspace.
On the value of being part of a creative cluster, Allen Scott, author of The Cultural Economy of Cities, says: “By clustering together, firms are able to economise on their spatial inter-linkages and to tap into the abundant information flows and innovative potentials that are present whenever many different specialised but complementary producers are congregated.”
