The City of Cape Town’s Central Library will host its annual Storytelling Festival to coincide with World Book Day on Thursday 23 April 2015.
Central Library staff, authors and storytellers will be joined by more than 800 children in the Company’s Garden. The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Special Projects, Alderman Belinda Walker, will participate in the storytelling sessions.
World Book Day, also known as International Day of the Book, was established by UNESCO in 1995 to promote reading, publishing and copyright. Librarians across the city will mark this day by actively promoting books, stories and reading.
