MUSIC EXCHANGE – South Africa’s premier music, film and entertainment programme returns to The Mother City between the 24 and 26 of September 2015.
Celebrating its fifth anniversary, this year not only will it be within heritage month, but at a new venue thanks to a brand new, three-year venue sponsorship with Sun International’s GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World, MUSIC EXCHANGE the non profit company (NPC) is now, without doubt, South Africa’s definitive entertainment economy indaba.
Not only with Sun International on board and committed to this critically important investment in entertainment for the next three years, the on-going investment from the likes of world-renowned composer, songwriter, producer and score wizard and MUSIC EXCHANGE board member Trevor Jones and local music icon Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse too.
2015’s programme looks set to be filled with some of the biggest, most relevant and exciting speakers MUSIC EXCHANGE has yet to have the rare privilege of hosting.
“We’re extremely proud to have Sun International on board,” Music Exchange founder Martin Myers announces. “When a successful company like Sun International looks to partner with an event as important as MUSIC EXCHANGE, it’s patently clear that what our partnership will see everyone participating enjoying well-invested dividends.”
Opening with a VIP, by invitation only, launch event on the 24 of September 2015, the preceding two days will see GrandWest’s live music venues, the likes of Market Hall, Roxy Revue Bar, Hanover Street and Jackson Hall, filled to capacity with key local and internationally successful players in both the film and music business. Personalities all keen to share and help grow South Africa’s rich and diverse talent pool with relevant thought leadership and direction each and every delegate will absolutely benefit from.
From multiple showcases at all of GrandWest’s venues, through to formal presentations, workshops, panel discussions and open forums, MUSIC EXCHANGE will, once again, deliver an intensive and inclusive two-day programme intended to have delegates leave with the requisite tools to help shape and positively influence their future commercial success. Not only within their local reality, but geared towards taking their talent and expertise to the world!
Over the two days, the annual symposium of the industry’s finest strategists, marketers and musicians, will get to share and engage in lectures and collaborative breakout sessions, all geared to empower, edify and entertain at every turn.
Diverse subjects covering every aspect of the African and global entertainment economy will be unpacked and shared by the very best in their respective disciplines. From the importance of arts and culture, insights into international trends, working in Africa, marketing, multi-media distribution mechanisms, right through to rights protection and how to be seen and heard in a local and global market, both cluttered with more noise than harmony, MUSIC EXCHANGE #MEX15 will, once again, deliver it all.
