We took an Uber from Cape Town Tourism office for the opening of Lara Foot’s Inconvenience of Wings at the Baxter Theatre.

We were there for the opening of the “The Inconvenience of Wings”. We really appreciated the atmosphere of the Baxter Golden Arrow Studio.

The play is written and directed by Lara Foot. It was played by three actors: Andrew Buckland, Mncedisi Shabangu and Jennifer Steyn. We will describe this piece as both funny and unusual.  It illustrates the conflicting relationship in a couple and the impact of diseases such as bipolar disorder.

This couple is represented by Andrew Buckland and Jennifer Steyn (who was remarkable in her role as mother and wife bipolar). This piece was very original because it was in the form of a flashback beginning at the end and going back to their first meeting. The tragedy of the piece is subtly mixed with a good dose of humour. The duration of the play is around 1h30 min and there is an age restriction (not under fifteen).

Thanks to Uber, we were safely home in record time.
