Join Zeitz MOCAA for their monthly series of children and family-friendly workshops in the Centre for Art Education and elsewhere in the museum.

Family Learning Workshops

The Family Learning Workshops which take place on Saturday, 12 October between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The morning workshop is geared towards parents/ guardians with children between the ages of 3 and 8 while the afternoon session is for parents/ guardians with children aged 11-17. Zeitz MOCAA’s Open Studio

Zeitz MOCAA’s Open Studio every free Wednesday which is facilitated by staff but doesn’t take the form of a structured art lesson. Parents/ Guardians and their children can join in the fun any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Book your spot here.

Children’s MOCAA Tour

The Children’s MOCAA Tour takes place on Saturday, 12 October between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. The tour has been designed for children to discover information about the artists, where they live and work and what has inspired them. Click here to reserve a spot.

PANEL DISCUSSION WITH NOBUKHO NQABA AND ANDRE TRANTRAAL (12 OCTOBER)

Join Zeitz MOCAA for a panel discussion with artist Nobukho Nqaba whose exhibition Izicwangciso Zezethu… (We Make Plans) explores the precariousness of home and historical displacements.

Sitting down with cartoonist and writer, Andre Trantraal, Nqaba will discuss the role of art within displaced communities and the dynamism and complexities of reclaiming urban spaces.

Andre Tantraal’s collaborative work with his brother Nathan Tantraal is rooted in the communities of the Western Cape. Their credentials include a comic book adaption of historian Koni Benson’s PhD thesis on the history of women’s political struggles titled Crossroads.

Nqaba’s work reflects on personal memories of growing up in an informal settlement in Grabouw and the complexities of migration and labour. Her exhibition is on in Zeitz MOCAA’s Project Space until Sunday, 20 October 2019.

Zeitz MOCAA Pricing

Don’t forget: Zeitz MOCAA is open seven days a week from 10am to 6pm. Daily admission is R200 per person, and free to under 18s. On Wednesdays from 10am until 1pm, the museum is free for all African citizens. On the first Friday of every month,  half price entry (R100 per person) from 4pm and the museum is open until 9pm. Memberships from R290 per year which grants the user year-round access to the museum, discounts on certain items at our shop and restaurant, and more. Find out more here.
