The Rainbow Academy, South Africa’s favorite performing arts school, is excited to bring to you two festive, proudly “South African” Christmas Shows on the 23 December and 2 January! 2020 Bells and Christmas Gees! – think “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) meets “Local is Lekker” Festive Cabaret.
The show is a combination of uniquely South African parody skits, music and dance numbers written and performed by the very talented students and teachers of The Rainbow academy.
The two-part, online series will include performances by The RA Students with guest performances by SA cultural greats Vicky Sampson, Russel Fox, Godfrey Johnson, Dr Hart and “The Power of One” and a cameo by Pieter Dirk Uys.
The show is a celebration of the Academy’s 10th birthday anniversary in 2020 and is the main fundraiser for the NPO to ensure its survival. The Academy and their students have suffered immense cut- backs on staff, sponsorship and support due to Covid 19. They have put together this proudly South African Christmas Show as a means to fundraise to ensure sustainability for 2021. The Academy strives to educate, empower and employ talented youth within the performing arts, cultural and heritage industries. The proceeds from the ticket sales of all the shows will contribute towards the ongoing work of the Academy and to ensure that the Rainbow Academy students of 2020 can successfully graduate.
The Rainbow Academy is appealing to the public, supporters, corporates and sponsors to purchase tickets, share the good news and to switch on to the incredible talents and a whole lot of Christmas gees!

Let’s kick-off 2021 with some fun, high energy and brilliant entertainment from the Rainbow Academy staff and students! MC, Russel Fox the Magician will take you through a fantastic evening of uniquely South African performances, including:

The Rainbow Academy
The Rainbow Academy is a registered non-for profit school in Cape Town, South Africa that empowers disadvantaged youth to a brighter future in the creative and cultural industries. They have been in operation since June 2010 and have put over 400 learners through qualifications and employment opportunities in performing arts, business, tourism, hospitality and life skills. A 1/3 of their students have progressed onto tertiary education, a 1/3 have perused their own businesses and a 1/3 return to the academy as interns.
