This December at Artscape, the theatre centre remains packed with performances for your enjoyment during the forthcoming Festive Season, both at the theatre and online on their YouTube channel.
Old favourties such as A Christmas Carol – The Story of Scrooge are back as well as the ArtsAbility Festival focusing on inclusive dance forms of dancers with disabilities.
At this time of the year most people across many parts of the world wind down to enjoy some downtime with friends, family and loved ones as we all take a break to “recharge”.
It has been a tough year, if not a tough 22+ months, as the world was ravaged with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and concomitant lockdown regulations in its varying forms.
Thus Artscape remains eternally grateful to those who have supported the cultural institution throughout these trying times.

- Cape Town Festival “Sound of Change” Concert – Viewable on Artscape’s YouTube Channel
Artscape and the Cape Town Festival collaborate to assist struggling artists with the online concert “Sounds of Change” this November.
Former festival CEO, Yusuf Ganief, has returned as Executive Chairperson, to revive the ailing but much loved Festival to support the plight of artists battling for survival under the economic pressures caused by the COVID pandemic and the concomitant lockdown regulations. The project serves as a revival of the previous partnership the two cultural entities pursued during the heydays of the Festival in the early 2000s during which time Artscape’s current CEO (then Director of Audience Development and Education) served as a Festival board member.
The concert is viewable on Artscape’s YouTube Channel
