Roelof Rossouw presents a solo exhibition Under Cape Skies at The Cape Gallery, opening on Sunday 6 March at 16h00.

‘’From breath taking sunsets, sunrises, rainbows and thunderclouds to enchanting full moons and highway of stars – Africa truly has the most magical skies’’- Photographer Jemma Brewitt

From seasonal changes to different times in a day ,he has captured the sky’s essence and focused on its beautiful vision.

Roelof states, “Painting clear blue skies has always been a problem for me, too much blue. That is why I get very excited when I see clouds. Not only do they create interesting shapes and color, but it solves the blue problem. Another great advantage is that their shadows cast on the landscape below create contrast, drama, mood and interesting patterns.”

‘’If I have ever seen magic, it has been in Africa’’- John Hemmingway
