Condé Nast Traveller readers rate Cape Town the 9th best city in the world!
Condé Nast Traveller naming it the 9th best city in the world is the latest of several top listings for the Mother City, with the global Timeout.com brand giving Cape Town the 11th spot in its ’53 best cities in the world’ list.
In its write-up of Cape Town’s 9th-place listing, Condé Nast noted the ‘pristine beaches’, and ‘world-renowned hotels’. Pick up a copy of the Cape Town Green COASTAL Map to find out more about beaches and tidal pools along Cape Town’s 307K coastline
‘These awards bring with them significant global attention and spectator value and come at a crucial period as we head into our peak visitor season.
‘Locals have long known that Cape Town is a triple A-rated city, which in this instance refers to accommodation, attractions and aviation, signalling the strength of our destination value.
‘In all three categories, we are recording fantastic recovery numbers with even better figures projected for the coming months. Between November and December, we are expecting 184 international flights per week. This will increase to 191 flights per week between January and March next year. This amounts to approximately 1,56 million two-way seats between November 2022 and March 2023, generating a whopping R7,9 billion in tourism spend.
‘This is the result of hard work by the City and its partners to connect with more key source markets, and clever campaigns such as Find Your Freedom from Cape Town Tourism (CTT), our official Destination Marketing Organisation,’ said Alderman James Vos, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth.

‘We will also focus single-mindedly on growing the economy so that more people can get into work and out of poverty while working around-the-clock to attract more visitors with clever campaigns and travel connections,’ said Alderman Vos.
CONGRATS to Cape Town and to all those that help to make it a GREAT and award winning city!
