Frederike Stokhuyzen – The art of living graciously – opens at The Cape Gallery, and reflects her belief that fine art and well-crafted design are key to creating a home environment that promotes harmony.
Frederike was ‘Born to be an artist’. In her joyful and disciplined approach to her career spanning over 60 years she has never wavered from her principles.
Stylish and colorful, Frederike’s tree, flower and landscape studies are deeply rooted in her love and knowledge of nature.
Cape Proteas
Together with her husband, she has toured South Africa, the UK, USA, Europe, Canada and Australia, pulling off the road whenever she spotted a striking scene, she sketched it in pen and wash. Later, in her studio, she’d transform them into bold designs on canvas.
Frederike’s own unique vision, her innate creativity and the intuitive approach to her art, as well as her honesty and careful observation, have begun her reputation as an artist esteemed by those who collect her paintings.
