Triple Exhibition Openings – Jeannette Unite, Veronica Reid and ATLAS Group – is the generous first set of exhibitions for 2024 at Rust-en-Vrede and Clay Museum, opening on 16 January 2024 at 18h30.

What’s Yours is Mined! – Salon A
Jeannette Unite’s upcoming solo titled ‘What’s Yours is Mined!’ includes mineral GEO-SEAM Bar Code paintings.
Unite has interrogated mining artistically since living on African west coast diamond mines in the 1990s .Her work was on exhibition in a solo show titled PLOT – Critical Zones at the Iziko South African Museum last year.
ATLAS – Salon B
Atlas is a group exhibition wherein various artists add to the geopolitical discourse. Artists were given archived aerial photos of mining sites as inspiration. This exhibition is part of an ongoing project by Unite Project Space.
Some of the participating artists include: Bongi Bengu, Jeannette Unite, Hans Viljoen, Elize Oosthuizen, Theophilus Rhikotso, Pwavidon Mathias, Jeff Allan, Helen Harris, Twin Mosia, Natasja de Wet, Emma Willemse, Ydi Coetsee-Carstens, Annelie Venter, Monique Day-Wilde and Caitlin Mkhasibe (see photo).
In Essence – Salon C
Veronica Reid has exhibited with Rust-en-Vrede Gallery on numerous occasions and is by no means a newcomer to the art scene. “We are proud and excited to be showing a selection of portraits and landscapes that will form part of Veronica’s first solo exhibition!”
