The City’s first Khayelitsha Market is happening at Lookout Hill on this Saturday, 12 April from 10:00 until 18:00 – and you are invited to participate in the festivities and embrace the excitement by attending.
Hosted by the City’s Economic Growth Directorate, the day promises an exciting line-up of live entertainment for the whole family. Visitors will find food vendors selling delicious dishes and a variety of arts, crafts, and fashion.
- Approximately 20 traders are expected to show off their wares and there will be fun activities for the children.
Not to be missed is MC, DJ Ntobsie followed by traditional dances, and various other DJs who will mix their genre of music tracks to create a cohesive and enjoyable experience for the audience.
‘We encourage the public to attend the City’s first market at this popular location, which supports local talent and businesses. This market aims to stimulate the local economy and foster entrepreneurial opportunities. Community markets such as this one, are an ideal opportunity for local artists and small businesses to generate extra income and for neighbours to connect. It also further empowers local communities to take ownership of their living spaces. Diarise the date and enjoy all it has to offer,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, Alderman James Vos.
Worth a visit to the Khayelitsha Market to stock up with food, arts, craft and fashion for the Easter Weekend! And enjoy the view over Khayelitsha to Table Mountain.
