Anthony Abbott is both painter and healer and his exhibition titled Interplay opens at the Casa Labia Gallery on 9 August.
His artwork explores the interplay between the abstract qualities of light expressed as both illumination and colour, and the act of creating as opposed to that of viewing. His intent is that the process whereby that which is known or unknown, certain or uncertain, is embraced by artist, viewer and artist as viewer.
His desire is that this interplay of roles becomes part of a healing ritual through the painting within the space that it occupies. This involves necessary risk, when abandoning safe ground, to become open to the infinite possibilities whereby the mysterious starts to unfold as viewer becomes in turn creator.
