Art: Abstraction meets narration

by | Jun 5, 2013 | News | 0 comments

Abstract Stories reconciles the relentless experimentalism of pop, urban and street art with the rigid formal aesthetics of abstraction.

Despite its wide reach, the exhibition features a good selection of local artists including Senyol, Black Koki and Ree Treweek, alongside international talents from as far afield as Kiev, Buenos Aires and Berlin. It’s a surprisingly coherent show with splashes of colour, self-expressive mark-making, fairy tales, fantasies and science fictions.
