Join the AVA Art at Artem Activation to celebrate the end of the year with a live performance by Daaiza Lady (a.k.a. jackï job, dance) & Man Mantis (a.k.a. Garth Erasmus), double base and traditional instruments at Artem on 23 December!
On the big screen: dance videos curated by Association for Visual Arts.
Nadège Sanz’ series “Whispers” will be on show until 31 December 2021 at AVA @ ARTEM, 1st floor, 277 Main Road, Sea Point.

- In the Main gallery & New Media room A line beyond brings back Igshaan Adams, Bonolo Kavula, Cathy Abraham, Zyma Amien, Jared Ginsburg and Bronwyn Katz to the AVA, amongst other artists of note. A show not to miss this season!
- Art, memorials and monuments in the Long gallery, by curator duo for-the-occasion Phokeng Setai and Steven Sack, zooms into Peace Parks of the mid-80s through video footage and photographs by giants like David Goldblatt and Santu Mofokeng, mixed with staff photographers from newspapers like The Star and other journalists.
- And don’t forget to ponder upon the way we are able to create avatars and impressions of ourselves through the use of different online resources such as Instagram, Facetime and Pinterest on the Mezzanine gallery. Isabella Kuijers’ exquisite hand-drawn art work focusses on this.
