Alastair Whitton of the Barnard Gallery talks us through Jo Hummel’s exhibition and explains, that living on the Isle of White, the artist is indeed always looking out. In a sense, the works are portals. One needs to get up close to see how the works are carefully orchestrated compositions of paint on paper.
Jo Hummel will be one of the artists that Barnard Gallery will have on exhibition at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair. Barnard will be showing artists they have represented for sometime as well as new artists that they now represent. The artists include Jo Hummel, Dirk Salz, Tom Cullberg, Jennifer Morrison, Katherine Spindler, Paul Senyol, Jo O’Connor, Alexia Vogel, Jaco van Schalkwyk, Lien Botha and Richard Mudariki.
On Saturday 18 February at 11h00, Ashraf Jamal will be giving a talk about the work on display at the Art Fair.
