Cape Town Buskers Festival at the V&A Waterfront will welcome local and international buskers from 4 to 5 October.
The stage is set, and the very best of local busking talent will soon gather at the V&A Waterfront for a festival filled with tremendous talent eclectic sounds, and, of course, enthralling performances! Cape Town Buskers Festival is a component of Cape Town Fringe which is in its final week.
Off the back of a successful round of auditions in August, the Cape Town Buskers Festival announced the final selection for the upcoming Cape Town Buskers Festival, which takes place across the V&A Waterfront from 4 to 5 October this year.
The Festival announced four well-known international buskers and 19 exceptional local busking acts for the upcoming festivities.

International Buskers
- Victor Rubilar (Argentina),
- Shandy South (UK),
- Sharon Mahoney (Canada), and
- Thelmo Parole (Spain)
These four international acts at this year’s Festival, showcase skills ranging from mime and improvisational stand-up comedy, to freestyle footballing and anarchic poetry!
Local acts, selected based on a rigorous audition process, include:
- Al Petersen (guitarist and singer),
- Reinhardt Buhr (looping and digeridoo),
- Mmino (band), Jo and the Gangamuffins (guitarist featuring mouth accordion),
- the Siyazama Cultural Group,
- Cape Town Freestyle, and
- the Hlangani Marimba Band.
In addition to being a celebration of the art of busking, the Cape Town Buskers Festival has also been designed to bring experienced and up-and-coming buskers together, to share skills and develop the busking category in South Africa.
International and local buskers will also participate in a series of skill-building and -sharing workshops during the Festival.
