Solo Section – Hugh Byrne
Ebony/Curated are delighted to present a solo booth by Hugh Byrne as part of SOLO: Time’s Labyrinth, curated by Sean O’Toole (Cape Town, South Africa).
Anico Upstairs
Anico Mostert is being hosted as an ‘Artist in Residence’ at the Cape Town Gallery at 67 Loop Street. Visit daily between Monday 13th and Friday 17th of February 2023, until 7:30 pm on Gallery Night, where Anico will be working from a studio set up on the second floor of their Gallery space in Loop Street.
Currently showing at Ebony/Curated Cape Town is Zemba Luzamba‘s solo exhibition titled Totem.
- Southern Guild Coode Crescent, Port of Cape Town, Cape Town
Southern Guild gallery will showcase, among other things, new works by foremost South African ceramicists Andile Dyalvane, Zizipho Poswa and Madoda Fani; intricate wall-hung sculptures by Congolese artist Patrick Bongoy and Benin’s Dominique Zinkpè; and a specially commissioned hand-painted server by Johannesburg duo, Dokter and Misses. Southern Guild will also debut a collection of assemblage sculptures by Nigerian-Canadian artist Oluseye, and large-scale works by Iranian-South African Kamyar Bineshtarigh and South African Manyaku Mashilo.
During the Investec Art Fair, Southern Guild features solo exhibitions by Porky Hefer and Wycliffe Mundopa.
- THK Gallery, 52 Waterkant Street, Cape Town
THK Gallery will be presenting a Solo Exhibition for rising star Lulama Wolf in the Gallery during the fair, and she will be present in the gallery for Gallery Night, on the evening of Friday 17th February.

- Barnard Gallery, 55 Main Street, Newlands, Cape Town
Barnard Gallery, collaborating with both emerging and mid-career practitioners from Africa and Europe, will present a focus on painting, highlighting recent local and international developments in the genre with a particular exploration of the recent resurgence of ‘Abstraction’ in contemporary art at the 10th Investec Cape Town Art Fair.Barnard will be presenting a booth in the Main Section with works by artists Jo Hummel, Dirk Salz, Alexia Vogel, Tom Cullberg, Richard Mudariki, Katherine Spindler, Jennifer Morrison, Paul Senyol, Jo O’Connor, Alastair Whitton, Lien Botha and Jaco van Schalkwyk.
Writer and cultural theorist Ashraf Jamal will conduct a talk on this topic at the Barnard booth on Friday 17 February at 11 am.
