New Exhibitions

White Dogs: An Exhibition by Duncan John Shelwell

Dogs, photography

Duncan John Shelwell

White Dogs is a photographic exploration of Cape Town’s accessible, dog-friendly wild places, as experienced by two rescue dogs, Glitter and Magenta. Captured across a variety of settings – ranging from vibrant and colourful to shaded and sparse – the images are a collection of canine-focused Cape landscapes, showcasing the best moments from an ongoing visual diary of daily walks.

(Non) Judgement: An Exhibition by Tania Lee and Cristina Salvoldi

Sculpture, Dogs

Tania Lee and Cristina Salvoldi

These sculptures are a collaboration between two sculptors, Tania Lee (a dog person) and Cristina Salvoldi (a cat person). Together they created these bust sculptures. We project our humanness onto the animals while seeing ourselves reflected in them. In this setting, however, the busts become both intimidating and challenging due to the intensity of the collective looks that are focused on you, forcing you into a new dialogue that questions the inherent understanding of the relationship. Who is the judge and who is being judged?
