Christopher Peter has been involved in many of the various aspects that make up the Art world in South Africa. The heart of his work however, is in the Irma Stern Museum, in the house, the garden, and the exhibitions he has curated in the Upstairs Galleries.
A Splendid Summer Send Off is a celebration of Christopher’s 40 year contribution to the artists and the viewers who have been involved in these solo and group shows.
The artists participating feel a deep sense of gratitude for the personal and professional attention he has generously shown to them personally, and collectively. 40 years and more than 40 artists!
In honour of his generosity, this exhibition is a tribute to him, and a means of wishing him well as he moves into another phase of his creative life!
