The Masque Theatre Fundraising Committee is presenting Let’s be Frank! – a show of swing, sing and all that kinda thing, with popular Cape Town singing duo Ricky Botsis and Kevin Abbott. One night only on Friday April 4 at 7:30pm.
The cause is a great one – to raise funds for the much-needed repair of the roof. But the show is a great one too!
“The Masque Theatre is 57 years old and for most of it’s early years was the only non-racial theatre in the Cape, as it still is,” writes Jo Hardie. “It has a long and proud history as a community theatre and many of today’s ‘greats’ took their first bows on its stage. But over the years the Muizenberg weather has played havoc with the roof, which now needs replacing – at vast expense”.
“So a major fund-raising drive is under way. This is just one of the events. Please support it (and bring/tell your friends) and please become a Masque Theatre Club member (only R60 p.a.) in order to hear about all the other events, as well as the full schedule of productions at The Masque.”
It will be a Gala Night as Ricky and Kevin delight you with many of your swing favorites – Mack the Knife, Beyond the Sea, Well Did You Ever – and lots more timeless songs from Bobby Darin to Frank Sinatra and the rest of the Ratpack. Songs that will get your fingers snapping and your feet tapping in a show that is fun, energetic and highly entertaining.
