City to host sports day for people living with disabilities

The City of Cape Town, in partnership with Mandla Sport 4 Change, will host a sports day in Mitchells Plain for people living with disabilities.

Activities on the day will include wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, karate, goal ball, team-building and running games. All sporting activities will cater for able-bodied participants and people living with disabilities.

Mandla Sport 4 Change is an organisation that strives to improve the lives of people living with disabilities through sport and games.  It also strives to create awareness and integration between able-bodied participants and people living with disabilities.

The City’s Sport, Recreation and Amenities Department, in partnership with Respo International, will provide an ongoing training programme to train 10 people living with disabilities in sport coaching, programme development and club development

Time:        09:00  until 13:00 (Registration opens at 08:00)

Venue:      Mitchells Plain Family and Youth Centre, Corner of AZ Berman and Kilimanjaro Roads, Mitchells Plain
